Actually, I'm joking. Valentine's day doesn't make me bitter.. I've been bitter my whole life. Usually I'd think you couldn't enjoy Valentine's Day unless you were a couple, but that's not true these days! You don't need to have a SO to enjoy Valentine's Day!
So, my plans for Valentine's Day is to spend it with my two great loves, Netflix and The Sims! Hahaha, anyway. I don't have any plans. I think Valentine's Day is on a Thursday so I might be babysitting for my sister. However, if you don't have plans and need some ideas of what to do here is your Single for Valentine's Day Survival Guide!!

1. Stay Home - Possibly the easiest option.
The Right Way:
Browse Netflix or Hulu, play a computer or video game and enjoy a nice home cooked meal or some delicious takeout. Plug in you iPod and dance around or create your own at-home spa, like this!
The Wrong Way:
Live on your couch and pout about being single. Dive into a pile of junk food and come out 15lbs heavier. Order 3 large pizzas and some hot wings.....for yourself. Collapse on your living-room floor and cry until 12am on February 15th.

2. Go Out - Comes in 2 different options.
A.) with friends/family.
The Right Way:
Go out for a nice lunch or dinner. Enjoy yourself and talk, joke around and reminisce with your friends/family. Go out for fun, try speed dating, go to the movies, go to the beach, or go to a major event, Anti-Valentine's Day Boat Ride anyone?
The Wrong Way:
Drag your friends to fast food restaurant where they sit rolling their eyes and sighing as you complain about your ex or how all guys/girls are the same. They constantly have to stop and drag you on, because you saw someone who looked like your ex. Or you ruin the mood by gagging yourself or being rude everytime you see couples.(Seriously, use your energy enjoying the time together, not being bitter.)

B.) By yourself.
[Most people fear going out alone, but not you! You're even sticking it to the man and going out alone on Valentine's Day! Good for you.]
The Right Way:
You go see a movie or out for a nice meal and enjoy the fact that, even on Valentine's Day, there is single life out there. You visit a club and party, dance and meet new people. Or maybe you just want to go out to the park and read(this blog, eh?!) or playing on your laptop or just sleep and enjoy nature.
The Wrong Way:
Go out and get drunk, because you're single and you see a bunch of other people(couples albeit) giving each-other gifts and walking hand-in-hand. Giving mean glares to couples or just being an ass. Seriously.
Were those helpful ideas? No? Well, go find your own fun then. I decided before this post gets too long, I'll just give you a short list of things to do if you're alone Valentine's Day. If you don't work, have single friends or whatever!
1o Go to the beach! - It may be winter, but it doesn't mean you can't go to the beach. There's always fun events happening over there and shopping.
2o Shopping - Always fun and quite rewarding. Don't feel like leaving the house? Online shopping can be just as fun.
3o Watch movies - Go by your nearest redbox, go on Netflix/Hulu, go by the WalMart clearance bin, go on OnDemand, go by a Blockbuster(if you can find one that's still open) or pick a movie you own but haven't watched in forever or at all and enjoy it!
4o Try to cook something new - You don't have to pick anything hard, but why not try something new?! Make your own pizza, try making your own lasagna, try baked fish or a salad. I'm not much of a cooker, but I'm expanding my skills.
5o Bake something - On my 25 before 25 list(see it here) I want to learn to make macarons and rainbow cupcakes. I actually made the cupcakes. I'll be posting about that later. Just cause you're single doesn't mean you can't enjoy some sugar.
6o Re-Design your blog/website - Try making a new layout, go on Photoshop and design some new pictures.
7o Start a blog/website - Make your first blog, make a tumblr, try making your own footprint online.
8o Make a Video - Post on youtube, go on webcam, record a tutorial!
So, whatever you decide to do this Thursday(Valentine's Day) have fun, enjoy yourself and just know you're not alone in being single. So, I guess that means you have a pretty good chance at finding someone for next year, right?
